Infinite Stories spent its first months as a private prototype. There were no accounts, no sharing and no public pages, just the core idea being tested: let a reader steer a story, and write the next chapter around whatever they picked.These notes are short on purpose. This period sits outside the project's current history, so rather than reconstruct it from memory, the entry sticks to what the stories from those months still show.
Branching story generation. Every chapter ended in choices, and picking one generated the chapter that followed it.
Branches that went somewhere. Test stories from this period reach 53 chapters deep, and one accumulated close to ten thousand chapters across all of its branches. The central mechanic worked well before anything around it did.
Chapter-by-chapter reading. The reading view that the app still uses today took shape here.
Private throughout. Nothing written in this period was ever publicly readable.
