Invite anyone into a Learning room, and every word explains its form
August 2026
This release opens Learning rooms to guests, gives saved words a home of their own and adds a third layer to the reading tooltip: why a word looks the way it does in that sentence.
Free invitees. Premium gates hosting a room, never joining one. The invite link admits any signed-in account, and the seat unlocks the course for exactly as long as the room lives. Learning itself is a Premium area: a non-premium account meets a clear wall instead of an empty page.
Form and function. Each glossed word now carries the sentence it came from, its grammatical function as a short label in the course language and in English, up to four similar words, and the rule that produced its form. Every term of the function label opens the cheat sheet that explains it, so reading "dative singular" is one tap from the dative page. The reader tooltip, the dictionary and the saved-words page all show the same block. Every glossed word of a course gets one, not a selection of them.
Search the fields you want. A row of toggles under the search box picks which fields the dictionary and the saved-words list search: the word, its dictionary form, each explanation language, similar words, form and function. Matches are highlighted where they sit, and only in the fields you asked for. The choice is remembered on this device.
Saved words. A dedicated list with server-side search, the sentence the word came from with the word itself underlined, the course and chapter each word was saved from, an Open in course link back to the exact spot, and a constructed link to an external dictionary (LEO, PONS, Glosbe or Wiktionary depending on the language).
Course build estimate. Building courses show a time range on the card and the progress screen, priced from the work that remains rather than from worst-case retries.
Review settle. A typed review answer waits one second before it is graded, so typing past a correct prefix (Haar to Haare) no longer counts a wrong attempt. Enter or leaving the field grades at once.
Error Spotting. Every grammar course ships exactly nine faulty and three clean sentences and serves six and two per attempt, with the correction options no longer leaking the answer.
Course prices follow the chapter. A course is priced by how much reading it has to build: every 150 words of chapter adds to the price, seven of those steps make one tier, and short chapters stop at half a tier. The 1,000-word cliff is gone, so a 999-word chapter no longer costs the same to build as a 1,000-word one for half the money. Grammar courses pay the full tier at any length, because their work follows the focus rules and not the chapter. Explaining the forms is billed by how many words there are to explain, so that part of the price grows with the chapter as well. The wizard quotes the exact price before you confirm, as it always has.
