Some characters now turn up in more than one story, and characters can change with your story even when someone else created them.
38 new branching stories, 27 short stories and 13 crossovers. More than 3,000 new chapters across history, far futures, folk tales and quiet everyday lives, plus 13 crossovers that bring two casts together. Every chapter and every cover has its own painted picture, more than 3,000 in all. Ten of the new short stories come with Learning courses.
New faces for your own stories. 24 characters and 12 scenes join the house collection you can pick in the wizard, and every house character and scene now has a picture in each of the eight starter styles.
Familiar faces. The home page has a new shelf of characters who appear in more than one story. Pick a face and follow them from world to world.
Featured in. A character's page lists every public story they appear in, in one section you can fold away. Each story card names the role (lead, side character, chance encounter or another version) and opens the story wherever you tap it. A story with another version of the character says "Special version" and shows which one only when you point at it, so it never spoils a surprise.
Read more with them. The last page of a story offers "Read more with" its familiar faces, straight into their other stories.
A new achievement. Familiar faces counts the different stories you read that feature the same character, from A face you know at three stories up.
Add your own version. Every public character has an "Add your own version" button under the report button. Your version is private: only you see it, and the original stays untouched. On your own characters the button reads "Add a version". If the creator deletes the original, your version stays yours as a character of its own.
Let the AI prepare it. Name the moment ("At nine, before the harbour fire") or the what-if, then press Let AI prepare. It rewrites the fields that fit, such as age and looks for a younger self, and names its price on the button. Prepare myself starts from the original instead.
Versions edit like characters. A version's page looks and edits like the character page itself. Each field says whether it comes from the original or changed here, and small buttons leave a field out of this version or bring back the original.
Pick a version in the wizard. Under Characters to Include, a character with versions shows a Version menu next to your vision for it. Characters without versions show nothing extra.
Crossovers keep their facts straight. Every chapter of a crossover now carries what its two source stories had already settled before the worlds met: who is related to whom, how long ago things happened, where places lie and what was lost or taken. Before, these details could slip by the third or fourth chapter. Crossovers you already started pick this up with their next chapter.
Clearer pickers. Characters to Include and Scenes to Include share one picker. Its descriptions open beside the item and stay short.
Load More stops repeating. Long lists of scenes, stories and research could show the same entry twice after Load More. Each entry now appears once.
Quieter menu. The sidebar no longer shows a tooltip that only repeats the item's name.
