Grammar courses, richer cheat sheets, your Simple view your way

August 2026
This release makes grammar something you can see. A new course type lays the structure of real sentences open and turns it into graded practice, the cheat sheets roughly doubled in depth, and Simple view becomes fully configurable.
  • Grammar courses. A new Learning course type built from a story you pick: role chips over every sentence, reference arrows by cluster with honest ambiguity, German case colors and Turkish morphology views, plus four server-graded exercise types, from label-the-role to cutting Turkish words into their morphemes. Each graded run records a best score and time.
  • Cheat sheets grew up. Every rule page now carries five to ten examples, five to ten common mistakes as clean wrong-vs-right pairs, and two memory aids in each of the six styles, each aid shown applied to a real phrase. Sections collapse to their headings so you can scan a page and open only what you need. Every page went through a multi-model validation pass.
  • Another angle on every rule. Each cheat-sheet page has a second explanation under the rule that takes a genuinely different route: a decision procedure, a contrast, or a worked walk-through. Collapsed by default, one tap away when the first explanation did not click.
  • Your notes on any rule. Cheat-sheet pages get a notes section at the bottom. Notes are private by default; making one public asks for confirmation first, and public notes are visible to every reader of that page.
  • Configure your Simple view. Settings now offers Simple view as default, custom or off. Choose custom and a configuration page lets you hide any sidebar item or section, choose which table columns appear, and set each column's width. Save combinations as named presets and switch between them. Your setup syncs to your account. The same page reaches into the details: every top-bar button, every element on a story or chapter page, and every field of the creation wizard down to name and description can be shown or hidden.
  • Stories as gifts. Public and unlisted short stories get a "Make this a gift" button that hands them to You Are a Gift. In the other direction, finishing a received gift offers to start a story about it: the wizard opens prefilled from the gift and a short guide walks you through, with every suggestion editable.
  • Short chapters cost half. Stories whose chapter length setting is 500 words or less now pay 0.5 credits per standard chapter instead of 1. The setting on the story decides; the price preview shows it before you generate.
  • Micro stories work end to end. Chapters generated at the Micro length (a choice every beat) can now actually be saved; the save floor scales with your chapter length setting instead of assuming full-size chapters.
  • Idea generation is reliable again. The wizard's idea generators asked for so much text that responses were cut off mid-answer and failed. They now propose five richer ideas instead of ten, at the same credit price.
  • Achievement toasts name the achievement. The unlock toast now tells you what you unlocked, with its icon. The questionable "% of writers earned this" stat is gone.
  • Fewer cut-off generations. Output budgets moved to one high ceiling and the backend now records thinking tokens per call, so budgets are sized from data instead of guesses.
