The story page opens tidy, and choices stack on a phone
October 2026
This release tidies the two things readers on a phone flagged most: a story page buried its chapter text under a wall of owner controls and stats, and end-of-chapter choice pictures squeezed side by side on a narrow screen. Alongside that, the Review queue speaks more plainly, Translation drops out where it has nothing to translate, and a round of this cycle's review passes closes out fixes in Learning, character versions, the wizard, dark mode and achievements.
The story overview opens collapsed. The block between a story's header and its chapter text (details, roster, owner controls and the configuration lane) now starts collapsed on every visit, in both Advanced and Simple mode. Tap Story details to open it. The chapter itself is the first thing you see, and the comments sit right below it.
Comments show who wrote them. Each comment now carries its author's name, and deleting one asks you to confirm first.
"All languages" sticks. Choosing All languages in the story list's language filter now survives a reload instead of jumping back to the language you picked before.
Choice pictures stack on a phone. At the end of a chapter, choices with pictures used to sit side by side even on a narrow screen, squeezing both down to a sliver. They now stack one above the other below a phone-width screen, and stay side by side on a tablet or desktop.
The Review queue speaks plainly. Saved words and practised flash cards share one queue, but its messages used to call every due item a "word", even a due flash card. You'll now see "Reload due items" and similar wording in the queue, your notifications and the weekly email instead. The review screen also explains, on request, why it only shows part of your due items at a time (for example "20 of 167 due today, more after this round").
A partial flash-card or saved-word session says so. Practising only some of a course's cards or words now ends with "You finished your selection", rather than claiming you finished the whole course. Completion, the continuation screen and a stuck Tutor still count the full course either way.
Translation drops out where it has nothing to translate. A course where the language you're learning and your own language are the same no longer offers a Translation exercise, and its price and progress total adjust to match.
Credit quotes show the exact charge. Prices shown before you generate, rewrite or research now display the real charge rather than a rounded-up figure.
Character versions and the wizard. Picking a version in the personal story wizard now turns on the parts of the character sheet that version overrides, the way the group wizard already did; you can still switch any of them back off. A version's field count, its room-meter weight and its chip now all agree, and a field a version adds actually renders after you pick it. The group Brief tab shows a character's versions in a compact list, and a research run started from Find more can be stopped mid-run.
Sign-in pages, rebuilt. The sign-in and registration pages (`/auth`) run on a freshly rebuilt, current framework. They look and work the same; a network problem or a server error now shows a clear message instead of failing silently.
Dark mode and contrast. A handful of screens, the admin panels and the Groups tag now follow the active theme's colours correctly, and several links, buttons and badges that were too dim in dark mode are brighter now.
Flash cards and Learning fixes. Dictionary and review explanations now open by tap, not only on hover, so they work on a phone. Wrong-answer feedback in the error-finding and grammar exercises now reads correctly in German, French, Italian and Turkish, labels included. A correctly capitalised German noun such as "Tomaten" is now always graded right. The German "Hänsel und Gretel" course's closing chapter now ends with its proper final lines instead of cutting off.
Achievements. Joining a fan-fiction group or cloning a theme no longer counts toward a tier meant for your own original work, and a private, author-only story no longer inflates your group-story count.
Security hardening. A background safety check now fails closed instead of silently passing when something goes wrong, cross-origin write requests are checked at one shared gate, and pages outside the one special meant to be embedded elsewhere can no longer be framed by another site. The site's analytics service was updated and moved onto its own isolated network.
