Saved words and flash cards now come due in one queue
October 2026
This release brings the two places words and flash cards came due into a single queue, stops a repeated idea check from charging twice, and closes out a round of fixes this cycle's review passes found in Learning, dark mode and account security.
One Review queue for saved words and flash cards. Review now shows saved words and practised flash cards due together, in one place, instead of sending you to two separate screens. The flash-card setup screen names how many of each are due in the language you're studying, right next to the link that opens the queue.
Re-checking the same fan-fiction idea costs nothing. The wizard's "Check my idea" step used to charge again every time it ran, even against text it had already checked. Running it again on an unchanged idea now reuses the earlier result for free and says so ("Checked before, no charge.").
Brief safety checks read entry by entry. A group or fan-fiction brief's safety check used to score the whole text at once, which could dilute one explicit detail past the point where it got noticed. It now checks the source, each character, the setting, each fact and the tone separately, so a detail that needs a hold is caught on its own.
The guest home page loads in one trip. Signed-out visitors used to see a near-empty page while the hero and the story shelves loaded in afterward. The server now sends the finished page on the first response, so it reads correctly even before the page's own scripts run.
Theme reports are back in the review queue. Reports on a designer theme had dropped out of the admin review queue's count and list. They're counted and shown there again, alongside story and comment reports.
Learning fixes. An error-finding exercise no longer offers a correction its own explanation calls wrong. A simplified rewrite of a chapter can no longer come back too short or cut off mid-sentence. A Learning page that fails to load now shows a clear error with Try again, rather than looking empty or missing. The counter under the chapter editor explains in plain words how much more you need before you can save.
More fixes. The notifications panel shows the right time for each item instead of one shifted by your timezone. A character version's fields now follow the base character's own order, and a develop step that reports a field as kept renders it as kept rather than blank. Opening achievements right after a background save gets rate-limited no longer leaves the page stuck loading. A few links, buttons and badges that were too dim in dark mode are brighter now.
Security hardening. Session tokens are now signed and checked against a key pair that rotates on its own schedule, instead of one fixed key, and the backend's web framework moved up to its latest release.
