v0.12.1

A live achievements page, your all-time numbers, and dark mode that keeps up

August 2026
A polish round from living with 0.12.0: the achievements system now feels finished, and dark mode stops missing spots.
  • Unlocks announce themselves - in Advanced mode. Earn an achievement and a toast tells you right away - click it to land on the achievements page. Simple mode stays quiet on purpose; unlocks bank silently and the achievements page shows everything either way. Opening a story counts even when you arrive signed-in from a direct link.
  • Rarity, completion and direction. Each achievement shows what share of writers earned it (refreshed daily), the page opens with your overall completion, and a Next up strip points at your closest goals.
  • Icons and descriptions everywhere. Every achievement, quest and track requirement now carries its own icon and a visible description, with real progress numbers (12/25), a progress bar on unfinished counters, and the date you earned each one. The icons restyle through the Designer like everything else.
  • Your numbers. A new stats section counts your all-time activity: days active, stories created and published, chapters saved, votes and comments in both directions, themes, characters, scenes and more - server-counted where the server knows, honestly marked where your browser counts.
  • Harder, better tiers. Bronze now stands for discovering an area; silver and gold demand sustained use - real active days, not repeat logins, and theme suggestions instead of theme-switch grinding. Reaching gold - or the raised All-Rounder and Luminary meta-titles - takes weeks, not an afternoon.
  • Redeem exactly what you need. Banked credit unlocks redeem as 1, 10 or everything that still fits this month's allowance - no all-or-nothing.
  • Every achievement has its own mark. Stacked icon pairs give all 55 visible achievements and quests individual, Designer-restylable glyphs.
  • Hints, only if you want them. Discovery hints have an off switch in User Settings under Browsing.
  • Dark mode, all of it. Info icons, dialog hints, the chapter rework dialog, wishlist badges and the Designer drawer's internals all follow your theme now, in both directions.
  • Creators everywhere are people. Story and chapter results in the finder show the creator's chosen title badge, and every overview table's creator name is clickable with the badge underneath. Very long names truncate in tables (hover for the full name), and new display names cap at 32 characters so this stays rare.
  • The finder fits your screen. The story finder's results table no longer scrolls sideways on desktop - it gets the same width the overview tables always had.
  • The wishlist shows what's alive. Status filters on the wishlist board, with declined suggestions hidden until you ask for them.
  • A welcome that levels with you. Your first visit in a browser gets one open-beta note: what's free, what will still change, and where feedback lands (the Wishlist and the GitHub discussions). Brand-new visitors also get pointed at the guided tour.
  • Email checks on address changes. Changing your account email now passes the same screening as registration.
  • Achievements moved to Advanced. The sidebar entry lives in Advanced mode now, keeping Simple minimal - the page itself stays reachable for everyone.
